Research Projects

Thus far, HEARglobe has been working on two main projects. For the first project, HEARglobe is honoured to be involved in the development of a survey with the Global Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (OHNS) initiative, which looks at the demographics of the audiology workforce on an international scale (project 1).

However, independently, as part of HEARglobe, the team’s interest is predominantly centred around environmental sustainability in audiology. To explore this, the research division of HEARGlobe has been working on 2 surveys that targets both audiologists and consumers of hearing devices to answer some of these questions (project 2): how much do you know about hearing device recycling programs and green product sourcing? What sustainable measures do audiology clinics currently take in their day to day practice? What more can we do to make our industry more planet friendly and how can we implement this in the long run?

The first survey is aimed at audiologists and is well on its way to completion, which will be used by some of second year students as part of their independent studies project this year, as part of their Masters of Clinical Audiology coursework. The second survey is currently in progress and is expected to be completed at the start of 2024.
